Winter Essentials : Makeup Edition

Wassup guys? How’s winter treating you all? I love winters, because of so many reasons, but one of the most important reason is my oily skin. I guess many of us with oily skin like winters. So, I thought of sharing some makeup products that I am loving this season. I prefer wearing light peachy and pink kind of shades in this weather with glowing skin. The products that I am listing here are not skincare they are strictly makeup and should suit not only on oily skin but any skin type. Here are my “Winter Essentials”,

Maybelline’s Instant Pink Transformer: I cannot begin to explain how much I love this product. It is so perfect for everyday use. This is like BB cream but instead of being in the shade of foundation it is pink. The only unfortunate thing with this product is, it is not available in India. I even checked online but couldn’t find it anywhere. I bought it from one of the duty-free shops at “Kuala Lumpur” airport. I think this is one of these country specific products. If anyone finds it somewhere then do let me know as well.

Pond’s BB Cream: As an alternative for “Maybelline’s Instant Pink Transformer”, I use BB cream. It does go a bit oily on my face but still manageable. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and, it’s very affordable.

Maybelline’s Clear Glow compact: This helps to set BB cream and mattifies the skin. Translucent powder will also work but this is the one that I like the most.

Focallure’s Brow Pencil: I really like the brush and the pencil. It is not round it is kind of a triangular which I think gives great precision when it come to brows. And head this, it costs only about 2.5$. The shade I have is B3.

NYX’s The goto pallet: This pallet has everything that one may need to create any look. There are eyeshadows, highlighter, bronzer and blush. Shades are great for winter day or night looks. Colors are pigmented enough and can stay intact for entire day. This pallet does justify its name.

“Maybelline’ Volume Express Hyper Curl Mascara”: I usually do not prefer waterproof mascara but recently I started using this one. It is long lasting and waterproof. I like the wand very much, it makes it easier to apply mascara on lower lashes. I have long lashes naturally, so I do not apply a lot of product or multiple coats because some how it makes me feel very uncomfortable and heavy on the lashes. Doesn’t it bother you when you can see your own lashes when you try to look up? For me it is very annoying.

MakeupRevolution’s Lipstick in shade “Save me from yourself”: When it comes to lip color it becomes the matter of personal choice. My favorite these days are peachy and pink nude tones. Usually matte long-lasting lipstick are the ones that I prefer but this winter I am really loving glossy lips. So this one turned out to be my favorite. It is very creamy and smooth. It does not make lips go dry (My lips do have tendency of cracking up) and I top it off with Nars’s lip gloss in shade “Easy Lover”. Now this one is very sticky, but that stickiness wears off buy time. Both the products go great together as lipstick is nude and gloss has pink tint, they really compliment each other. And I do apply Vaseline on my lips before going over with any product. Continuing my love for matte liquid lipstick I would recommend “Miss Claire’s soft matte lip cream” in shade 45. Its a bit on peachy side and velvet matte so does not make lips feel so dry.

Here is the look that I created using the products I just mentioned.

I think I am gonna stop right here and not bulk up the list. These were all makeup products. Almost all of these products are available at Nykaa and there is Christmas sale going on so do check it out.

Till then, Happy Winter everyone.

Eat delicious, look fabulous… 🙂
